hello john.thanks for the input last week.came out with another win. ive made a couple roster changes and here is my debate this week.
LJ or dunn?
drop muhsin muhammad, kcurtis,m.moore or mark bradley for.
Peyton Hillis,Deion Branch,Donnie Avery or
Justin Gage???
pick 2.PPR
plax,harrison,k.curtis.berrian or mark bradley?
if you were to drop and pick up any of these guys who would be your 2 top choices at wr?
Thank you very much for your help last week; it was great – I have a few more questions this week.
I am in a standard league and was thinking of picking up Justin Gage (who is a FA) but I am not sure who to drop. My available receivers to release are: Antonio Bryant, Donnie Avery, Steve Breaston, and Kevin Curtis (I also have Andre Johnson but he’s not going anywhere). I am leaning toward Breaston; would you leave the current receivers as is or make a change. (& Which 3 should I start this week?)
Also, for RB I have Frank Gore, Ronnie Brown, Ricky Williams, and Pierre Thomas; Gore will start but I was thinking of putting Thomas in for Brown this week – Dunn is also a FA and I might pick him up and drop Thomas. What do you think would be the right play.
Thanks,
Here is my running dilema:
I currently have DeAngelo Williams, Kevin Smith and Warrick Dunn. Shoud I be dropping any of them for Jonathan Stewart, and then my second question is who should I be starting this week at my 2 RB’s.
My second question is who should I start as QB?
Brady Quinn or Matt Ryan, would you trade Brady Quinn for San Francisco QB, given they had an impressive last week?
Finally, I currenly own Neil Rackers, should I trade him for Mason Crosby?.
Thanks for all of your help, I have lost the last 4 games.
Jug – With Graham out and Caddy iffy, I’d go with Dunn this week against a very bad DET rush defense.
I might dump Moore for Peyton Hillis. It can’t hurt to get another starting RB on your roster. At WR, I like Bradley as much as the other WRs you mentioned, so I’d probably stand pat. (Gage does have a few nice matchups coming up – not this week but the two weeks after – so you could cut Bradley for him, but at this point it’s six one way and half a dozen the other.)
At WR, I would probably go with Burress and Berrian, though Curtis is worth a look too. Harrison just hasn’t been very good on the road this season.
Ryan – I would agree that Breaston is probably the WR to drop. With Boldin and Fitz healthy, his week to week production is iffy. Gage is a good pickup.
I would consider starting Thomas over Brown, but only if the Saints come out this week and say that he’s going to get the lion’s share of the carries. There are too many variables in NO (Bush’s impending return, Deuce’s presence, Stecker’s knee) for me to feel confident starting Thomas, especially over a guy like Ronnie Brown. I would go with Brown unless something happens this week that leads us to believe that Thomas will get 15-25 touches against Green Bay.
I really like Dunn as a FA – to me, he has more long-term value than Thomas, so I think that would be a good move. Plus, he has a great matchup this week against Detroit.
Raj – sorry to hear you are having problems.
While it would be nice to have both Williams and Stewart (so that if one goes down, you have insurance), I’m not sure that I would cut any of those RBs for Stewart. Is there anyone else you can cut? I would start Dunn and Williams this week.
I would keep and start Quinn this week. He has HOU which is a great matchup, while Ryan faces a tough CAR defense. Crosby would be a good start this week so you can go ahead and pick him up. It’s not like you can’t get a good kicker for subsequent weeks.
Hey John, thanx for the input last week. Few questions this week. I need to win this week!!
Pick 2 RB’s
1. Frank Gore
2. Steve slaton
3. Warrick Dunn
Pick 3 WR’s
1. Marvin Harrison
2. Eddie Royal
3. Antonio Bryant
Heres a few recievers on the wire also to choose :
Driver , Muhammed ,Donnie Avery , Michael jenkins,
Chad Johnson or Gage. Thank you
garcia, mcnabb, or thigpen
pick 3: hines ward, desean jackson, tedd gin, mason, and antonio bryant
pick 3: westbrook, chris johnson, derrick ward, or MJD
clark or owen daniels
tampa or miami def
Dennis – I’d definitely start Gore. The other slot is tougher, as Dunn has the better matchup. But I think Slaton is more explosive and would be the better choice.
At WR, I would go with Royal, Bryant and probably Driver, who has a nice matchup with the Saints. Marvin has been bad on the road this season.
Alex – Garcia seems like the best play against a very bad DET defense. It’s tough to bench McNabb because he can be so explosive, but it just hasn’t been there this season and trying to throw against the Ravens is no treat.
At WR – I think I’d go with Ward, Bryant and Mason, if he plays. If not, Jackson looks like the most dependable play.
At RB – I’d go with Westy, CJ and MJD. It looks like Jacobs is going to play.
At TE – I’d go with Clark. Tough call, but he has the better matchup.
On DT – I’d definitely go with the Bucs against DET.
Hey I have a rb question!
Pick 2 RB’s
1.Marshawn Lynch (at KC)
2.Deangelo Williams (at ATL)
3.Brian Westbrook (at BAL)
Right now I’m thinking about benching westbrook considering the ravens defense
Hi John,
I currently have Lance Moore, starting this week.I try should aid Michal Jenkins for one of the following WR’s?
Amani Toomer,Matt Jones,Greg Camarillo,Marc Bradley,Devery Henderson,Devin Hester
I currently have Lance Moore, starting this week.Should I try should to drop Michal Jenkins for one of the following WR’s?
Amani Toomer,Matt Jones,Greg Camarillo,Marc Bradley,Devery Henderson,Devin Hester and then who should I start…one of the following receivers or keep Lance Moore?
Here are a few for you:
D Bowe or M Harrison
J Cotchery or E Royal
Pick 2 RB between: Addai, D Williams, R Brown
Thank you in advance…
John – I would go with Lynch and Williams. It’s tough to bench Westy, but he has a horrible matchup and isn’t playing particularly well.
Raj – Moore is an okay start. To me, Jenkins is about the same as most of the guys you listed, though I would think that Camarillo and Bradley would be a little more productive this week since their matchups are better. Jenkins has a bad matchup this week.
Biglos – Bowe, of course! Cotchery/Royal is a little tougher, but I’d go with Royal. OAK’s top CB will be on Marshall and Cotch’s matchup with TEN is awful. At RB, I think I’d go with the first two you listed – Addai and Williams.
I can start three WRs in my league. I’ve got:
Anquan Boldin
Donald Driver
Wes Welker
Vincent Jackson
Ted Ginn Jr.
Boldin’s obviously in, but as to the other two, any thoughts?
Boldin for sure, and I think Welker has proven himself to be a big yardage threat as well. I would also go with Driver if it looks like he’s going to play. Ginn would be my next choice if Driver is hobbled.
Hi John,
What are your thoughts on Lee Evans? Is he worth getting on Waiver Wire? I can trade marc bradley for him.
Out of Frank Gore, Brandon Jacobs, and Ronnie Brown, which two should I start?
I don’t have a lot of confidence in Evans right now, but I think he’s going to play a lot better down the stretch than he has the last two weeks. I would cut Bradley for him.
Anon – I would go with Gore and Jacobs, if he plays. If Jacobs can’t go, Brown is a decent RB2 play.
I have Roddy White, Donald Driver, Steve Smith, and Derrick Mason…which two should I start?
Edgery – I think you have to go with your studs – White and Smith. Driver and Mason are both nicked up.
QB: Philip Rivers or Jake Delhomme
WR need 2: Vincent Jackson, Marques Colston, Eddie Royal, or Bernard Berrian or Devery Henderson
RB need 2: Adrian Peterson, Thomas Jones, Chris Johnson, Derrick Ward
Hi John,
Having a little trouble here deciding who to start and I would greatly appreciate the help, thanks.
I can either start 3 WR or 3 RB.
I have Turner, and LT starting for RB and Reggie Wayne and Steve Smith at WR. So for the last spot that is RB/WR do I start: Santana Moss or Ronnie Brown?
Housh or Randy Moss?
They both seem hit or miss…
And another tough pick, Rodgers or Cutler?
Thanks
JP,
J.Cotchery or L.Moore?
In a odd QB delemia t/w…. (they are all bad)
S.Rosenfeld, M.Hasselbeck, G.Ferott?
Lamareo – At QB, Rivers has a bad matchup while Delhomme has a decent matchup. But Rivers has been much better this season. I think I’d go with Rivers.
At WR, Berrian has a great matchup with a bad JAX pass defense. Colston has a tough matchup against a pair of good GB corners, but I think he’s your best option. Next up would be Royal, IMO. At RB, I’d go with Peterson and TJ, because he’s been a little better than CJ of late.
Blake – do you get a point per reception (PPR)? If so, Moss is your guy. If not, go with Brown.
Scott – PPR? If so, I’d definitely go with Housh. If not, it’s a tough call, but I’d rather have Housh because he’s more consistent (and CJ is out).
At QB, Rodgers has a better matchup against a shaky Saints pass defense.
Zoo – that’s a tossup. In a PPR league, I’d go with Cotch and in a non-PPR league I’d go with Moore. I think Moore is more likely to catch a TD.
At QB, you’re lucky because Frerotte has a great matchup this week. He’ll get you at least one TD and probably another.
pick 3:
hines ward, desean jackson, tedd jinn, mason, or antonio bryant
pick 3:
crhis johnson, derrick ward, westbrook, pierre thomas, or MJD
Hello John.
I am in a ppr league and I am wondering What 2 Rb you would start out of these 3. I have Ronnie Brown, Thomas Jones, and Jamal Lewis. Which one would you leave on the bench?
Hi again,
I don’t believe we have PPR,this is my first year, we get 1 point for every 10 yards.
Should I put D. Bowe instead of Brown?
Def: Ravens or Eagles? I have the Ravens in there right now
K: Elam or Folk
Thanks for the help.
John/Alex – I answered that question earlier in the thread. Please do not repeat questions.
Ryan – I would go with Jamal (great matchup) and Ronnie Brown (better matchup than TJ).
Blake – In a non-PPR league, I’d go with Brown as your flex.
On DT, BAL looks like your best bet. They’re at home and Philly has been turning the ball over.
At K…Folk.
JP – Pick your top two WR’s out of this group. Thanks, buddy.
Donnie Avery
Lance Moore
Santonio Holmes
Laverneous Coles
Ted Ginn Jr.
Hi Paul,
Do you like Kevin Curtis or Lee Evans. I am planning to drop Marc Bradley for one of them, on your recommendations.
THoughts?
Thanks for your help,
Raj
Gator Bait – I like Avery and Moore. Holmes is a close third, but he’s been a little spotty this season.
Raj – Who is this Paul that you speak of? If it’s a PPR league, I’d go with Curtis. But if it’s a standard league, I think I’d go with Evans and see how he plays over the next couple of weeks.
JP,
At RB, C.Johnson or T.Jones?
Neither guy has a good matchup, so I’d go with the guy who has been hot of late, TJ.
two good match ups, for TE should i go with jason witten or tony scheffler? and for QB should i go with kurt warner or drew brees. thanks !
Do u pick up Pittman-STL and drop Duece or Selvin Young when you have LT and Lendale or keep all and drop V Jackson as you have B Marshal and Boldin playing 1 RB 1 R/W and 2 WR each week – TD worth 4 compared to 6
JP,
For WR, who should I start (pick 2)
B.Marshall
J.Cotchery
J.Gage
M.Harrison
For TE, who should I start
O.Daniels
T.Scheffler
For W/R spot, who should I start
J.Stewart
and the WR above
For K,
K.Brown
N.Racker
S.Gostkowski
Thanks!
Hey john,
Slayton vs. @ Cle or R. Brown vs. NE
WR pick 2:
B. Berrian @ JAC
R. Moss @ MIA
A. Bryant @ Det
L. Moore vs. GB
Thanks again.
Mr. S – I’d go with Witten, but I don’t feel great about either guy right now.
GMC21 – It’s tough to say how the STL, NO and DEN running games are going to shape up over the rest of the season. Pittman is the most able to provide immediate help, while Young is working his way back and Deuce has a suspension cloud hanging over his head. I’d definitely hold onto Jackson since you only need to start one RB each week.
Bob – Marshall and Cotch have been the most dependable all season long. I’d go with them. Daniels at TE seems like the best play. At your flex, it’s a tough call. Is this a PPR league? If so, I’d go with Gage. If not, I’d probably go with Stewart since he seems to have the best chance to score a TD. At K, I’d go with Gost.
Trey – I think Slaton is the better play. Berrian has a great matchup and I think Moss is worth a start this week given your other options.
Hey John, thanks for all the help. I have a question regarding WRs.
Start 2
1) Greg Jennings (vs NO)
2_ Eddie Royal (vs OAK)
3) Steve Smith (vs ATL)
Thanks very much.
Chap – I’d go with Jennings and Smith. I think Royal will have a solid day, but I feel better about the other two.
Donald Lee or Shockey
I’d roll the dice with Shockey. What the heck.
Please pick 2 RBs from Hightower, Chris Johnson, Arrington, Antonio Pittman
Please pick 2 WRs from S. Moss, Welker, Ginn Jr, Gage, Derrick Mason
Thanks.
who do I pick from: hightower, fargas, arrington?
JOHN,
HELP!
Bernard berrian or Santana Moss!?
WR pick two
m.colston
t.owens
e.royal
w.welker
c.chambers
RB pick two
b.westbrook
t.jones
s.slaton
please help
(standard rules no ppr)
more help please..real weak in this league
WR pick two
r.white
w.welker
k.curtis
RB pick two
b.westbrook
j.stewart
j.fargas
a.pittman
Help me, John! I seem to always be leaving the wrong guys on the bench. What do you think for this week? 2-RB, 2-WR, 1-Flex:
RB’s: Chris Johnson, Ronnie Brown, M. Jones-Drew, Warrick Dunn
WR’s: Randy Moss, Lance Moore, Lav Coles, Jer Cotchery, Justin Gage
Thanks for your time and help.
Hi John,
I am starting TO and Jennings. I have one other choice for wr between DeShaun Jackson or Vincent Jackson?
TE – I think I’m going with Witten, but I just got Dustin Keller?
QB – I think I’m starting Rodgers over Rivers. What do you think?
Thanks.
Hugh
Ram – Johnson and Pittman look like solid plays. Moss and Welker look good at WR.
Neil – of that group, I’d go with Hightower.
Paul – I like Berrian this week, but I like Moss more.
bUn – I would go with Owens and Welker. I think TO will show up against his old team. At RB, Westy is hobbled and may not play. Plus, he has a horrible matchup – so I’d go with Slaton and TJ.
bUn II – White and Welker (be sure White plays, however). Of that group, I’d start Westy if he plays. If not go with Stewart next and then Pittman.
J. Anthony – is this a PPR league? Anytime you’re talking flex, it’s important to know that because it changes the value of WRs in relation to RBs.
Hugh – DeSean is a better play against a banged-up Ravens secondary. Go with Witten – he should have a good game against SF. I’d definitely start Rodgers over Rivers. Indy has a great pass defense and the Saints are suspect.
Thanks for the help.
Should I start Dunn over Ronnie Brown this week? New England is tough on running backs; and although Brown had an amazing game against them earlier in the season I am not sure if he can do as well this time- the Wildcat will not fool the Patriots twice. Please let me know what you would do.
Also, which 2 receivers should I start (Standard League)?
Antonio Bryant
Donnie Avery
Justin Gage
Kevin Curtis
Thanks again.
Brady Quinn looks like he injured his finger? Would you still play Brady or play Matt Ryan instead? Sorry for the name mix up..brother..I mean to type John.
Thanks,
Raj
Sage (HOU) or Jake D (CAR)
Need one
Pittman RB – STL
Duece RB – NO
Lendale RB – TEN
V Jackson WR – SD
John:
Yes, we get .5 per reception. What do you think my best options are?
Hey John – can you add pierre thomas RB – NO to my listing above – he is an option as well.
Ryan – I would stick with R. Brown. The Pats are pretty nicked up defensively. And, wow, those are four middling WRs you have there. Let’s see – Bryant and Avery.
Raj – I am less certain that Quinn is going to have a good week, but I still feel better about him than Ryan against the Panthers.
Mike – I’d prefer Sage. Delhomme looked brutal last week and the Falcons are no pushover defensively. At RB, I think Pittman is your best option.
J. Anthony – Tough call. MJD and Dunn at RB, Moss and Cotch at WR, and R. Brown at your flex.
Mike II – I’d stick with Pittman. With Deuce still there and Bush possibly playing, there is no guarantee Thomas will get a good number of touches. You’re pretty much guaranteed that Pittman will.
Hey, i have 4 good runningbacks and i dont know who to start. For sure im starting Marshawn Lynch, but i dont know if i should start Thomas Jones Mike Turner or Jones-Drew? Your opinoin will be a great help thank you.
That is a tough call, Robbie. Turner hasn’t done well against tough matchups, so I think I’d bench him unless Norwood is out (and it looks like he will play). I think I’d go with MJD.
last one -
Hillis -DEN or Steward -CAR
Torry Holt is a FA in my league; should I drop Donnie Avery for him? Who do you think will have a better remainder of the season?
Thanks,
