That might be true for a conventional offense, but the triangle doesn't really require or feature a point guard, so Odom's talents wouldn't be utilized. He's best in the open court, not in the triangle offense, no matter what position he's playing.

And if you bench Fisher for Ariza, now you have four players - Odom, Gasol, Bynum and Ariza - who can't make an outside jumper consistently. That's just not going to work.

I've got to correct you in something. You mentioned that you don't know what pros there are of playing Odom at the point, but there are various cons. The coaching staff has finally come to the same conclusion that I've had in my mind for so long. Lamar Odom is just a tall point guard. He really can't play any other position. His signature move is driving to the basket and laying it up, typical point guard move. Secondly, Odom is always looking to pass first. Why not allow him to do that by making that his job, to find the open man and initiate the offense. Odom plays well with the ball in his hands at the top of the key, that's where he creates plays from. The only real downside of him playing the point... he takes up the spot of a legit shooter. And on a final note, I wouldn't play Fisher at the 2, I'd leave Kobe there and start Ariza at the 3 or I'd move Kobe to 3 and start Vujacic at 2.
