I should change my screen name to “Trade Addict”. The Forte / DeSean Jackson trade for Fitzgerald / Westbrook sent my league into an uproar!
Now, Westbrook has two fractured ribs and I want to unload him. I have a guy willing to trade me Reggie Wayne and Sammy Morris for Westbrook and Chad Johnson. PPR league. Do I sit and wait on Westbrook or pull the trigger right now before he completely falls apart?
My RB’s: Portis, Lynch, Westbrook and McAllister.
My WR’s: Fitz, Holmes, Ohco, Engram, Royal.
We start (2) RB and (3) WR
Sorry, he now wants Holmes instead of Ocho…
Choose 2 :
1. Ronnie Brown
2. Steve slaton
3. Frank Gore
GB – I think I’d hold onto Westy.
Joe – I would go with Ronnie Brown and Frank Gore. Slaton has been good, but MIA is playing good defense right now. Brown has a great matchup with HOU and Gore has a decent matchup with PHI, who just got gashed by Portis.
Ok john taking on the best guy in the league this week and need all the help I can get
two rb’s
earnest graham, julius jones, steven jackson, chris perry?
two wr’s
driver, holt, fitzgerald, breaston?
eli or peyton?
Thanks for your help
Stewart – As of right now, I’d recommend Jones and Jackson. Graham is an okay play against CAR, but I think you go with the stud (S-Jax).
WR – Always start Fitz. I’d go with Holt as my WR2.
QB – I’d go with Eli. Ride the hot hand against a bad defense (CLE). Peyton has BAL, which is a bad matchup.
a trade was just sent to me that is very tempting
i give ryan grant and matt hasselback for mcgahee, garrard, and lendale white
My team:
QB: rodgers, hasselback
RB: Grant, Addai, Bush, K smith
WR: R Wayne, E Royal, A Gonzalez, Ocho cinco, L moore
what do you think?
I need a DEF fill in, who should I pick up?
Arizona
San Francisco
Washington
RBs –
B.Jacobs – RB1
Steve Slaton – RB2 – should I be concern with Ahmad Green?
W/R – Le’Ron McClain
Bench – J.Stewart, I maybe able to get C.Buckhalter… should I change my line up?
QB -
Should I start K.Warner or P.Manning?
TE –
would you drop J.Shockey if you have O.Daniel?
Hey John,
What’s happening brother. THanks for all your help thus far.
1st Question:
1. Zach Miller – Currently got him based on your article. Is there a better option below.
2. Donald Lee – FA
3. L.J. Smith Waiver I am #6 out of #13
4. Dustin Keller -FA
6. Visanthe Shiancoe – FA
7. Kevin Boss – FA
8. John Carlson – Waiver until 9th
2nd Question:
This is who I have, who should I send to bench?
WR – Santana, Steve Smith, Vincent Jackson,Calvin Johnson. I can only have 3 WR.
RB – Earnest Graham, DeAngelo, Steven Jackson
I can only have 2 RB
I guess I am really struggling with TE…I also have the option of picking up Olsen, but he wasn’t on your recommendation listen.I wasn’t able to pick up Slaten at most of the good ones are gone.
Cheers!
Thank You!
One more thing, do you think I should try to get stokley and drop calvin, or will calvin be good in weeks to come.
Hey JP, am I crazy for thinking about starting McClain over Addai? I know you “never sit your studs” (theoretically) but Addai is going against the Baltimore defense while McClain gets Indy. My other options would be to sit either Stewart or Grant, but I’m thinking Addai is due for a stinker against the Ravens.
Gators – I’d hold onto Grant and Hass. That guy is trying to buy low, and the guys he’s offering up aren’t that good.
Bob – WAS has a GREAT matchup this week (STL at home). They will be my DTBWW (on my Love ‘Em & Leave ‘Em post) pick this week.
Don’t worry about Ahman. He’s backing up Slaton at this point. Your lineup seems solid otherwise.
I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I’d start Warner over Peyton.
Hold on to both TEs. Once Shockey comes back (this week, supposedly), maybe you can move one for help elsewhere.
Ya Raj – Zach should be a good play this week. Best of that bunch anyway.
I’d start Smith, Santana and Calvin just about every week. You have to live with the occasional bad game from WRs.
At RB, I’d start Jackson and probably Graham, though it would be understandable if you wanted to get Williams in your lineup. He has more upside, but I think he has more downside too. Remember, he was playing the Chiefs. Neither guy has a good matchup.
I wouldn’t drop Calvin for Stokley.
Jamey – You’re not crazy. Of that group you mentioned, McClain is most likely to score a TD. It’s very close between McClain, Grant and Addai. I think Grant could surprise – he looked better last week and SEA is suspect against the run, but it’s understandable if you want to steer clear. McClain has definitely done the most lately and Indy is just awful against the run. The Ravens may not even attempt a pass.
Ya Raj – Miller or Olsen would be good. I see them about the same right now. I think Miller has a little more upside and Olsen is probably more dependable. The reason he wasn’t on my WWW list was because he (Olsen) was owned in more than 50% of ESPN leagues.
Couple of issues:
I am currently holding 3 QB’s for some odd reason and I need to free up some room. I want to keep 2 out of the 3. Who should I drop and who should I start for week 6:
1. B. Favre
2. C. Palmer
3. J. Campbell
I currently have a decent receiver crew but I’m thinking about getting rid of W. Welker. Someone just put A. Boldin on waivers (I am 8 of
and was thinking about picking him up in place of Welker. Problem is I have another injured receiver that I am carrying on the bench (K. Curtis). It looks like Boldin won’t play until 10/25. Or do I dump Curtis for Boldin?
Play 3:
1. T. Owens
2. D. Driver
3. W. Welker
4. K. Curtis
Available: A. Boldin (W oct 10), E. Royal, V. Jackson, Randle El, and a bunch of other mediocre players.
Alright I’m in a pinch…
I can start 3 WR and one W/R
Here are my choices:
Roddy White, Torry Holt, Bobby Engram, Lance Moore, Le’Ron McClain, Chester Taylor, Justin Fargas.
Which 4 get the starting nod??
I have to start 2 RB from:
Ryan Grant vs SEA
Deuce McAllister vs OAK
Justin Fargas vs NO
Michael Pittman vs JAC
Which 2 do I start?
TheOne – My strategy would be to try to trade Palmer this week to someone who needs QB help. All three of your QBs are good enough to be rostered, so the trick is to get something you need, not cut one of them. Palmer is probably worth a RB3 or QB3 or maybe a starting-caliber TE.
I would keep Welker over Curtis, so my plan would be to dump Curtis for Boldin. Curtis still isn’t completely healthy and he’s entering an offense that is featuring DeSean Jackson and to a lesser extent Reggie Brown in the passing game. I’d much rather have Welker, who is definitely involved in NE’s offensive game plan. I’d start TO, Driver and Welker if Curtis is your other option.
If you can’t get Boldin, my next pickup would be Royal and V. Jackson, in that order – both are better than Curtis, IMO.
RIOT…
PPR league? If so, I’d start the first four you listed. If not, I’d start Roddy, Holt, McClain and probably Moore, though Fargas is tempting if it looks like he’s going to start and get the bulk of the work.
John—
The league is 0.5pt per reception, 1pt per 10 yards (Receiving and Rushing) and 6pt for TDs
So leave the RB’s on the bench and start Moore at W/R?
I think I’d go White, Holt, Moore and McClain. Holt/Engram/McClain/Moore and even Fargas are very close. I could make a case for any of them.
Moore gets the nod over Engram because of his upside. McClain is a good bet to score a TD. I think Holt could bounce back with a solid game.
I was too dumb to trade Kurt Warner and Le’Ron McClain away
Now, my W/R spot is open, I have the following players on my bench, who should I put on the spot,
Jonathan Stewart
Earnest Graham – he has been inconsistence… worry me… with Dunn stealing the carries from him…
Bobby Engram
If Shockey starts this week, should I start him instead of Owen Daniels?
I lost Kurt Warner because I’m dumb… should I pick up any of this? I’m worry about Peyton Manning since he is playing against the number 1 defense – Baltimore Ravens…
David Garrard – playing against Denver’s D… hmmm..
Jason Campbell – playing against the Rams… hmmm… but he is on waiver, someone may beat me to it.
Gus Frerotte – playing against Detroit!
Chad Pennington – playing against Houston…
Thanks!!!
Another owner picked up Buckhalter before I could last week (I have Westbrook) and now is trying to ransom him to me for a 3rd round pick next year…ya right! What would a “reasonable” counter offer be…maybe a 7th or 8th pick???
Bob – I’m not clear on why you’re beating yourself up. Are you lamenting the fact that you did trade Warner away or that you didn’t?
In a PPR league, Engram is always a good start. Otherwise, I’d go Graham.
I think you’re good with Peyton at QB. I wouldn’t bench him for any of those guys you listed.
StrikeTeam – Yeah, I’d counter with a 7th, but be prepared to settle on a 5th. If that’s not good enough for you then you might want to counter with an 8th or 9th. The question is, how important is it to you to have Westy’s backup? Would you start Buck over the other RBs on your roster? If not, then he isn’t worth that much to you.
JP,
My other RB’s are Jamal Lewis, Michael Turner, Selvin Young, and Justin Fargas. To me it doesn’t seem to be a panic situation though Young and Fargas has been less than stellar….unless you see it differently, I will start with an 8th round pick……
Strykteam
I think you are OK at RB even if Westy can’t go. Obviously, it would be nice to wrap up Buck, but I don’t see it as something you HAVE to do to stay competitive.
Fargas is resuming is role as the starter, btw.
I was kidding, I traded K.Warner to my brother in law who really need some QB help.
Thanks! Yes, receiving yard is 10 yard per point, rushing yard is 15 yard per point
So, Engram over Graham, right?
who do i start at WR:
A Gonzalez, Ocho Cinco, B Stokley, L Moore (pick 2)
QB issue: I currently have Derek Anderson on the bench, I will be away all weekend. Should I trade Derek Anderson now for Brady Quin? Or Should I trade him now for Matt Schaub. I want to figure this out before I leave. I am starting Kyle Orton this week, so I am convered there.
One more thing I forgot to mention, I will be away meaning, I won’t be able to add the player during the games on Sunday b/c I won’t have computer access. Matt Schaub and Brady are both free agents, so trying to get ahead of the game if you think its smart?
By the way Robert Meachum just became available…I am 6 on the waiver.
Should I trade Robert for Santana, Steve Smith, Vincent Jackson,Calvin Johnson? This on the waiver ofcourse
Bob – A PPR league is a point per reception league. Engram is great in those, but if you only get points for yardage, then he’s not as valuable. PPR league = start Engram. non-PPR league = start Graham.
Gators – I think I’d start CJ, just in case he gets on track this week. After that, I think I’d go with Moore, who has some more upside than Stokley. Though if Royal doesn’t play, then Stokley is probably the better start.
Ya Raj – I’d rather have Schaub than Anderson, and I’d rather have Anderson than Quinn, for now.
When you say “trade” you mean “drop,” right? Should you drop any of those receivers for Robert Meachem? Of course not.
Drop Owen Daniels for Shockey? Heath Miller is available too, but on a bye week for week 6.
I know there is some doubt that Shockey is even playing this week. I only have 1 TE (no backup).
I have the following WRs and need to start 3 of them:
Reggie Wayne
Laveranues Coles
Reggie Brown
Amani Toomer
Ike Hilliard
Kevin Walter
a) Who should I start? I’m planning on Wayne, Coles, and Brown but am not sure about Brown.
b) Should I drop any of these guys for Domenik Hixon? If so, who?
Another surprising thing happened, Lance Moore is now available….should I trade Earnest Graham, Vincent Jackson, Calvin Johnson, ot Steven Jackson for Lance Moore..may not get it..but its worth a try ?
not trade but drop i mean to get from waiver….by the way…i am sending you money on paypal so you can by yourself a case of beer
Twizach – My feeling is that Shockey probably won’t play this week. I’d hold onto Daniels and start him this week. If you can add Shockey, you should, assuming you have someone to drop.
Bill – Wayne and Coles for sure. The other spot is a tossup. Any of those guys could catch five balls and a TD or catch 1 pass for 9 yards. Brown is probably your best option.
I wouldn’t cut any of those guys for Hixon. He looked great last week because Burress was out. There’s the possibility that he’ll get more action since he played so well, but methinks Toomer (and probably Steve Smith) are still ahead of him.
Ya Raj – The only guy you could drop for Moore is Vincent Jackson, but I’d hold onto him with Chambers dinged up.
Thank you.
THANK YOU
Hi John,
According to some reports, WR Vincent Jackson (knee) missed the team’s practice and may not play week 6. To be relived on Friday. Should I pick up Reggie Brown on the Waiver or Derek Mason FA today. Ofcourse I am looking for long term potential from whatever you recommend? I can’t thank you enough for all your support!!!!!
One last thing, Both Reggie and Moore are available on the Waiver on the 12th. I am 6 out of 13. I guess it all comes down to what your gut tells you I should do for upcoming weeks. THis week, I already have Steve Smith, Santana and Calvin playing. I am trying to be proactive b/c on week 9 both my Vincent and Steve Smite are on byes. So I will be forced to pick up a WR and drop one. THANK YOU SO MUCH
I prefer Lance Moore to Reggie Brown, though Moore has a bye in week 9. Brown is out for Sunday but has a nice matchup in Week 9, so if that’s your goal (to find someone to play that week), he’s a good candidate.
Hello – In my flex position do I start Michael Pittman Den or Vin Jackson SD?
With Chris Chambers listed as doubtful, I’d go with Jackson against a shaky Patriots secondary.
ok big trade offer john
i give eli and panthers d
i get brandon jacobs and titans d
I have peyton manning as a alternate qb and s jackson, forte, e graham and j jones for backs
That seems like a fair trade. Tough to say who’s getting the better end of the deal. It mostly depends on how Jacobs does for the rest of the season. With your group of RBs, I don’t think that you NEED to make the trade, but if you did, it would give you one more weapon in your arsenal.
