That is a great point. I am a huge fan of college football, and I love rooting for teams to upset the higher ranked teams, like Iowa beating Penn State, and even Buffalo beating the undefeated Ball State for the Mac Championship. I also believe that the BCS rankings aren't and really can't be accurate because of the great athletes and weapons that these top division 1 schools have.

Things are definitely changing. FSU is a great example.

On another note, I'm also still shocked Wisconsin blew that game. Next wee should be interesting against Pryor and the Buckeyes.

I couldn't agree more...except I wouldn't go so far as to refer to Ole Miss as one of those "smaller schools"; however, this game and Jevan Snead are perfect examples of a growing trend of athlete impatience.

Gone are the days when 4 or 5-star athletes will sit and wait their turn to start at top tier programs. These days, top recruits would rather play for any BCS contender rather than sit and wait their turn at larger programs.

Jevan Snead is the poster boy for this argument. He was a highly recruited 4-star QB that committed to Florida...until a guy named Tebow added his name to the list. Once this happened, Snead de-committed and joined Texas. After losing out in a battle for the starting job in Texas, Snead transferred to Ole Miss where he found plenty of playing time under a talented coach with senior receivers. Ole Miss is literally a few tough plays away from being undefeated.

Then, factor in "smaller schools" such as USF who are making a name off retaining talented in-state recruits who traditionally would've sat the bench for Florida, FSU and Miami or perhaps left the state for other programs. USF is growing at an alarming rate as they rise through the BCS ranks and knock off talented contenders such as Auburn, West Virginia and Kansas...to name a few. These recruits may not be at traditional top-tier programs but they have just a good a shot at making a BCS Bowl game or perhaps a title game (with some luck).

It's plain to see the playing field leveling out across the nation.
