Chiefs’ Tony Gonzalez could request a trade
According to NFL Network reporter Adam Schefter, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Tony Gonzalez could quietly request a trade to a contending team soon. The trading deadline is coming up on October 14, the Chiefs would listen to offers for their veteran players on the current roster to acquire draft choices and rebuild the franchise through the upcoming draft.
Various reports have the Chiefs only considering trade proposals involving first-round choices if they decide to trade Gonzalez. No teams have been identified as possible suitors to acquire him at this time.

Boy would I hate to see Tony go. I understand it, but would sure hate it! I think there are many others – not players that should go. Why on earth did we make Tony wait a week to get his record on the road in a miserable game when he could have celebrated at home….fans wanted it and I am sure Tony did also. That was a demonstration of no concern by the coaches of the players, team and fans. Just no concern at all. Then, when I think Herm has shown how unconcerned he can be, we get a shut out in Carolina just because. We are on the 20 yard line – 4th down and go for the first down. Come on – we weren’t playing to win by that point. What was he thinking? I simple field goal would have kept us from being shut out – again, giving the players and fans something. But no…..Herm just lets us go with a big fat 0…..I can’t imagine how frustrating it is to be a player for him. Maybe it isn’t Herm – but he is the head coach so the responsibility is his. Since he doesn’t seem to be trying to change that – one can only deduce that it is his philosophy. I have had my season tickets for 25 years and have always been proud to support our Chiefs. Last year I almost gave them up……this year, I feel that it might be my obligation to do so. If enough people do, maybe something will change. I don’t expect a good team to just appear – I am good with a rebuilding…but for heaven’ sake, an embarrasing team is beneath the players – they are much better than that. We have a coaching problem more than a young team problem. Any idiot knows that if you run up the middle without success 3 times in a row and punt over and over you will not change the outcome….isn’t that the definition of insanity – continue with the same action over and over and anticipate a different outcome….please……that just is wrong. thanks for allowing a place to vent! I love our Chiefs – I just really dislike the coaching and leadership that is incharge. It is not worth the price of my tickets.
i love tony in kc but if we can get a first then lets take it and try and get some rookie studs.
