		<description>#1 depends on your defense.   The Rams elected to kick off against the Eagles and the Eagles went right down and scored a TD.  If you plan to win the game on Defense, then by all means kick off.</description>

You&#039;re right - it depends on the situation. If the 4th down is manageable, going for it and saving for the FG later might make more sense.

I was speaking in general terms and directing my opinion more at the teams that go for it on 4th and 10 when they have a FG opportunity there for the taking. Why leave points on the field?

Thanks for the comment and next time hopefully I&#039;ll sneak it past the goalie for that hat trick!</description>

		<description>Anthony, I&#039;m in agreement with you on the first 2 items, but you don&#039;t get the hat trick.   A 4th and 7 might be a situation to kick instead, but a 4th and 5 has at least a 50% chance of success.  It is easier to kick a field goal, so why not save the easier part for the final seconds, rather than having to get all the way to the end zone for your final score?</description>
