Does Vince Young still want to play football?
Tennessean.com is reporting that Vince Young is tired of all the pressure of being a NFL QB and may want to retire.
On Monday night, she saw 25-year-old Vince Young sink to his lowest point. It ended with Coach Jeff Fisher calling Metro Police to search for her son for over four hours, and opened the biggest window yet into the emotional and troubled side of the Titans quarterback.
Felicia Young said her son has grown weary of all the negativity he faces as an NFL star. On Monday, he indicated to those around him he didn’t want to play football any more.
“Vince has gone through a whole lot as a young person,’’ Felicia Young said. “And I think he has done pretty well up to this point. But it is hard, all he is going through right now. He’s hurting inside and out.
“But he will be fine if people are prayerful and help my baby boy out. He is a young man. He just needs a lot of love and support.’’
What a strange trip it’s been. To go from his performance against USC in the Rose Bowl to winning the Rookie of the Year when he entered the NFL, to leading his team to the playoffs in his sophomore season – it really seemed like Young’s star was on the rise. Then there were the rumors that he was thinking about retirement (a while ago) and now this disappearing act that caused Jeff Fisher to call the Nashville PD. Oh wait, it was an overreaction. But wait, his mom says he’s thinking about retiring again.
What is going on here?
I just hope the kid is okay.

Wow. This looks pretty bad. Frankly I’m shocked. I hope he gets some help and turns it around.
He’s one of the best college football players I’ve ever seen. I’m not surprised that he hasn’t become a top-tier NFL QB, but I am surprised that he’s having trouble handling the situation.
Vince Young dont forget about your family, friends, fans and the hard work that got you to Tennessee. Who ever said it would be easy in the NFL. In every game there’s pressure. Can you handle the pressure, visit pressuresportswear.com
He better stick to playing in the NFL. If his Wonderlic scores are any indication of his intelligence, he’ll be screwed in the real world.
(On a separate note.. the CAPTCHA code I have to type in at the bottom of this comment is ‘incest.’ Wtf?)
he sucks at passing he really isnt that good at QB
this isn’t an unfamiliar story. people have the dream of going to the nfl, spend their whole lives trying to get there and then find out that it isn’t what it seems. for some, college sports is fun and then all of a sudden pro football is a job and doesn’t look as fun as it did on the outside. imagine dreaming of opening a birthday gift for like 20 years and finally getting to and there’s nothing inside. that’s a big letdown. sad thing is that there are all pro players in the nfl who feel the same way, but some have just been better able to reconcile that within themselves and say “well it’s a job then i just have to do it” while others can’t recover from the letdown
Vince anything worthwhile does not come easy.Come on man yeah playing football is hardwork.Lets think about though. Your getting millions of dollars to play football, little kids and big ones alike look up to you. Come on man you got it all. Dont let a little bump in the road screw it all up. When ur in canton giving that speech how proud will you be tht u stayed and made something of yourself.
It’s a shame the downfall of Vince Young’s athletic career. I would tell him to step away from the sport and seek professional help. Your life is more important than an outcome of a sporting event.
Everybody knows you never go full retard.
MAN WAT THE HELL,,,, WHEN HE LEFT COLLEGE, HE SUCKED ASS
Can you handle the pressure, when it’s only seconds left on the clock and all eyes are on you, What cha going to do? pressuresportswear.com

Vince,
Remember you do not have to be the best, just do your best. Start there, and remember that with every play and every game you will gain experience and improve. Do not be afraid even when you make mistakes you will learn and grow from it. Go ahead son and realize your dream, be the best damn NFL quarterback that you can. Remember, God did not bring you this far to leave you. Just trust Him cause He will NEVER LEAVE YOU NOR FORSAKE YOU. Go ahead Vince — MAKE GOD PROUD AND CLOSE THE MOUTHS OF ALL THE CRITICS. YOU CAN AND YOU WILL DO IT. STICK TO IT AND NEVER QUIT.
