This just in: Notre Dame still sucks
Notre Dame rallied in the fourth quarter to beat San Diego State 21-13 in their home opener Saturday evening. Quarterback Jimmy Clausen was 21 for 34 for 237 yards and three touchdowns. He also threw two picks.
The Irish won, but their performance was rather reminiscent of last year. San Diego State was a double-digit underdog and yet gained more total yards, turned the ball over less and flat out outplayed Notre Dame for three quarters. If it weren’t for a couple of costly mistakes in the third quarter, SDS embarrasses ND on their home turf and maybe Charlie Weis doesn’t make it out of the parking lot without his pink slip.
Look, I’m not a Notre Dame-hater. I just think it’s a little ridiculous that a football program still has their own national television contract and they put on performances like the one Saturday. The game was pathetic and it looks like the Irish are in for another long season.
This just in, you suck
If you don’t want ND to have thier own tv contract, then don’t watch the game. In the meantime, Go Irish!
The Irish were lucky to win that game, with Sad Diego State fumbling on the 1 yeard line.
That said, Jimmy Clauson looked great in the fourth quarter as the Irish took advantage of the fumble. He marched them down the field, and I was impressed with his accuracy and arm strength. They also have some talented receivers and their line looks pretty strong.
I would say the Irish will be much better this year.
Yes. The Irish suck. Oh wait. Blown calls resulted in a 21 point swing! Notre Dame had a fumble recover for a touchdown blown dead b/c the ref said is a forward (incorrect) pass. Oh, and a non-fumble on the 3…his knee was down. But wait, let us ignore the false start on SDSU’s first touchdown. Ok. They would have at least gotten a field goal.
The first two calls were momentum breakers.
How on earth did this blog entry get picked up by Yahoo?? I thought it was supposed to be news and info. I think anyone who follows this link is officially dumber and may God have mercy on their souls.
I agree with the article. ND was lucky to hang on to this one. It looks like last year because….. Next week NOTRE DAME vs MICHIGAN … who is worse ? Hey – I’m from Florida. Can I have my own tv network too (NBC) ? Why ? You don’t want me to jam it down your throats every week ?

I’m still trying to figure out what this is? Is it an article? A blog entry? It’s only about 2 paragraphs long, it isn’t witty, it isn’t profound and it doesn’t really tell you anything you didn’t know before if you watched the game. Thanks for cutting and pasting the game stats from a real news source…. but how about something a little bit more than “I’m not a Notre Dame hater” and then 35 words on why you think Notre Dame still sucks.
I guess it’s true what they say; anybody with a free e-mail account can be a “sports writer” these days.
I think the only thing that sucks is the douche who made this blog entry on “The Scores Report” (whatever the f*** that is….) who thinks he’s the next Peter King.
Wow – these ND fans sure are sensitive. I guess if you think ND sucks you must hate them, as opposed to thinking that they looked like crap for three quarters?

Do you really thing ND vs San Diego State should be on NBC ? C’mon – it’s not USC vs Notre Dame … thats a real game. But for a Major network ? YES – I can change the channel and I do. But I still ask you why is it on one of the three major networks every week ? Did you know San Diego State lost their first game to Cal Poly ? Who the heck is she anyway ? Who’s next Bill and Mary ?
