Permit me to expand upon that T-bone. We were a pathetic franchise before Ron Wolf, Mike Holmgren, Brett Favre and a little fella names White converged on Green Bay. In his early years, Favre was the beneficiary of some extremely stingy defense (in '96, they were statistically as good as the '85 Bears in many ways), a very good oline and some significant special teams contributions from Desmond Howard.

The present team is not even close to that level. We're pretty good at linebacker and wideout, but there are significant issues almost everywhere else. O-line, D-line, RB, TE, S, CB, FB, QB and KR are all concerns right now. I'm not saying it couldn't come together well, but it worries me. I'd be much happier with Old Reliable back under center.

What amazes me is everytime Favre makes a move that looks bad to the fans, the Packers make an even dumber move that makes him look good by comparison. Who the hell is running the show??

Do the Packers even realize what a pathetic franchise they were before Favre came to town? Or maybe they forgot about Lynn Dickey, Don Majkowski, and Blair Kiel? Stop the pissing contest, tell Aaron Rodgers thank you for your patience and for being a standup guy, but you're free to seek employment elsewhere, and welcome Favre back with open arms. Everyday this ridiculous situation festers, they lessen their chances of making the NFC championship game again this year.

And it will allow ESPN to go back to reporting on the Redsox ever 10 minutes.

You have to admit that it's more interesting than the Kyle Orton/Rex Grossman battle.

Wow - if true this is pathetic. Like you said, it needs to end but not with a bribe.
