I get trade value (a first day pick), or he stays a Packer. End of story. Personally, I think he should choke on the ego and just come to camp. Rogers won't make it to opening day anyway. If he does, I say the Vi-queens hand Favre his starting job back on opening day. If I was TT, I'd tell Brett he could come back, but he gives me two years. No retirement BS next year and he goes riding off into the sunset for good after 2009 season. Then I'd try to trade Rodgers and develop Brohm and Flynn behind Favre for the next two years, but that's only because I think Rodgers is mouthy and fragile. Then I'd go out and beg, borrow or steal the best guard and tight end I could find for the next two years regardless of the price. I'll go to my grave saying we were a consistent running attack and some solid TE play away from winning it all last year. There is no way I would release Favre. He wasn't just an assistant; he was the QBs coach! Is it so shocking that Favre would be talking to his friend and former coach when considering a comeback which he thought Ted was open to all along? The release demand seems more like a knee-jerk reaction to what he perceived as being lied to by the GM than part of a plan to bolt for the Vikings.
