In years past it always took him a month or two to decide what he wanted to do. I believe that the right thing to do is to give him his job back. But with all of the hemming and hawing that the Packers' brass is doing, I don't know how likely that is. They could just be testing his commitment to coming back, but it sure doesn't seem like it. I'm not sure why Thompson and McCarthy weren't more open to the idea from the beginning of all of this. He is clearly still a more dependable (on the field) option than Aaron Rodgers, and if he comes back and lands with the Vikings or Bears, it could turn into a horrible, horrible situation. I agree that Favre is to blame for this and he looks pretty silly. But if the guy wants to play, he has a right to. As a Packer fan, I just want this all to end. This is a nightmare.
