Hello, Matt Forte: Cedric Benson arrested
According to KVUE Sports, Bears running back Cedric Benson was arrested early Sunday morning for boating while intoxicated and resisting arrest. He’s out on $14,500 bail.
This is not his first arrest.
Back in 2004 Benson spent time in the Del Valle Correctional Facility for criminal trespassing.
He was found guilty of breaking into a woman’s house in search of a stolen television.
Well, it looks like another first round bust for the Bears (and one could certainly make that argument before this incident). This should make Chicago fans that wanted the Bears to draft Rashard Mendenhall in the first round real happy. At least the team nabbed Matt Forte in the second.

Ah, with any luck Jerry Jones will take Benson off of the Bears’ hands and add him to the Cowboy thug collection (see Tank Johnson). This is a great excuse to cut this guy loose once and for all. Never was any good, never will be any good. This could be a blessing in disguise…….
Benson is the next PacMan. This is his 3rd time to be arrested, after being jailed on trespassing charges while at UTerus. He was also arrested in April 2002 for possession of marijuana. Benson is continuing the legacy of THUG Texass Bonghorns.
Surprise, Surprise —- Benson is claiming police abuse. Wow that excuse never gets old from athletes!
