Agreed. I half expected him to finish by saying, “And to all of my critics out there –” and then give ‘em the finger.
Well done, Eli. Your brother’s still better, though.
I still can’t believe how this kid pulled out that much poise for the post-season and especially this game. The play to Tyree was unreal. Guess he’s not on the hot seat anymore, eh NY media?
He’s not on the hot seat anymore with NY fans either. He’s now golden for life.
Don’t kid yourself. Eli is still developing as a QB and will still make some mistakes, and I’m sure all of this goodwill he built up during the playoffs will start to dissipate a bit the next time he chucks a couple of bad interceptions off his back foot.
The thing that is funny about that last drive too is that he had a couple of ugly throws off his bad foot because of the pressure the Patriots had. He had not time, but was fortunate enough to not have those two bad throws get picked off so he could make the big throws later on. The Pats had their chances and couldn’t come up with the big play, but the Giants did when they needed to.
