Strahan sick of Favre love fest 2008
Michael Strahan is well aware that Brett Favre is America’s favorite quarterback right now and quite frankly, he’s sick of it.
“I look at all the stories and everything that’s been written that is like, ‘This is Brett’s last swan song,’ or his [last] chance to go the Super Bowl and all that stuff, and I look at it as the same way for me,” Strahan said…
That’s why Strahan surveyed a room crammed with reporters and cameras at Giants Stadium yesterday and wonder aloud: What about us? “Brett being the great player that he is, the Hall of Famer that he is, everybody is going to probably focus on that a little bit more for him,” Strahan said.
“[But] we all feel the same way about ourselves.” Acknowledging Toomer and Feagles, Strahan said: “[Favre] has a ring. He can hang it up and say, ‘I was a Super Bowl champion at some point.’ But all of us don’t have that, and some of us are still pressing to get it.”
You tell them, Gap Tooth.

Re: Why you don’t get as much attention as Brett Favre

No one gets as much attention as Brett Favre.

I know why Strahan!!!
It is because Favre is the man and he is everyone’s imaginary best friend. Everyone wants a friend like Favre, he is easy going to the cameras eye and shows higher priority in his life, like his family and friends. Unlike TO and his antics. This is no hit on you though, Strahan, I like you too man!!!
Nick
P.S. Strahan is the shit though, I really like that guy!
Nick hits on a great point. Favre is the guy everybody wants to have a beer with at their favorite dive bar, and talk football all night long. He’s not pretentious and seems to enjoy his job like it’s his first year, not his last.
What bothers me is that Strahan would even bother bringing this up. You would never hear this from Favre if it was Strahan getting all the attention. Then again…it could just be Strahan busting on Favre a little bit, with the same wink Favre gave when he handed #92 the sack record.
He keeps saying he’s a man, but he sounds like a fuggin’ crybaby to me.
It doesn’t matter who you are or where you live, every football fan is going to love Favre. So get over it Strahan!!!
I have to admit that the sports media coverage of Favre gets to be too much sometimes. When we played on Monday night, there was such a pre-game hype-fest, I actually looked at my father in law and asked “Is there gonna be a football game tonight, or are we just gonna sit around and talk about it?”
I put this down under the same heading as the whole Jessica Simpson silliness.
I just can’t wait for the games. I’m gonna go rent a couple movies.
