Stop the crying; the matchups are fine
So we won’t see a Patriots-Colts grudge match this weekend, and we missed out on a Packers-Cowboys clash? Boo hoo. In my latest column for Bullz-Eye.com, I write that we should just be grateful that a computer didn’t pick Sunday’s AFC and NFC Championship games. Besides, the Chargers and Giants may surprise.

Anybody whining about these games must love the BCS too…a predetermined matchup. Sorry…doesn’t work that way. This is why the NFL is and always will be 1000x better than college football. They play it on the field and the better team moves on. You have to bring it everyday. No opinion polls, no computers, no rankings immediately after the final gun of the championship game for the following season.
Stop bitching and enjoy the games.
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. This year was about the best divisional playoff round I’ve seen. Yeah, the Packers walked eventually, but the first half was some of the most exciting football I’ve ever seen. I actually had to leave the room and calm down for a minute. The other games were hard fought and very exciting.
We were the recipients of some monstrously entertaining football this past weekend, and my guess is that the two upcoming games will be spectacles as well. Don’t like the matchups? Go suit up for the Colts or Boys next year and try to change them. What? Can’t do that? Ok, sorry. Guess you’ll just have to accept the best that the most competitive professional sports league around has to offer.
Anybody who ends up shocked at a Giants-Chargers Superbowl just hasn’t been watching. Those guys are playing some ball. Sometimes with competition like this, your team loses. It happens. Get over it.
Jeff, we are thisclose to another shot at the Super Bowl…the anticipation is killing me!
I’m trolling through old albums scanning in pictures for my wife just to keep my mind off it. I have no idea what I’m gonna do until 5:30 tomorrow.
If somebody said we’d be in the NFC Championship back in training camp, I’d have patted him on the back and figured him for nuts. It’s an amazing year. Go Pack!!
