Let’s start with a straggler left over from last week’s thread:
gators: I clinched playoffs so now i just have some questions about playoffs…
which def’s wud b most useful for week 15 & 16?
DET, SEA, DAL, TB, WASH, ARI, HOU, KC?
which kickers most useful for week 15 & 16?
brown, crosby, graham, hanson, reed, janikowski, gould?
Thanks
TB has two very good matchups in those weeks – vs. ATL and @ SF – so I would rank the Bucs first. After that, it’s kind of a crapshoot. Neither HOU nor WAS have a good matchup in those two weeks. All of the others have a good matchup in week 16, but not in week 15. I would rank them this way for the final two weeks: TB, SEA, DET, KC, DAL, WAS, ARI and HOU.
Kickers are really a crapshoot, and weather plays such a big part, but Graham has two good matchups in weeks 15 & 16. After that, I would go with Kris Brown, but you may be talking about Josh Brown, whom I would take next. Then I would probably go with Reed. If you want to maximize a combo for the two weeks, I would go with Crosby and Reed, as they both play at STL (in a dome) in weeks 15 & 16, respectively. That way, weather is not a consideration.
JP: Do you see Devin Hester putting up any more numbers on offense this season? I’m holding him on my bench for now, but it’s tempting to drop him and pick up a free agent…a 3WR like Brandon Stokly or Chris Chambers; or a spare RB like Ricky Williams. Have a good turkey day.
NO or WAS?
I need 1 RB, 2 WR and 1 RB/WR between – Portis, Jones-Drew, Chatman, A Johnson, Evans, Branch, or Bowe??
Thanks
This is a must win week for me…
QB = Jon Kitna or Kurt Warner
WR1 = Reggie Wayne
WR2 = Plaxico Burress or Chris Henry?
RB1 = Willie Parker
RB2 = Justin Fargas
TE = Chris Cooley
W/R = Chris Henry or David Patten or Rudi Johnson or Julius Jones?
Do you think Brandon Stokley and Patrick Crayton still valuable to keep?
Thanks for your advice last week! Chester Taylor won last week for me!
QB = T.Brady or B.Roethlisberger
WR1 = B.Edwards
WR2 = L.Fitzgerald
RB1 = F.Gore or C.Taylor
RB2 = M.Barber III or C.Benson
TE = A.Gates or J.Witten
W/R = G.Jennings or any of the RB above?
JP, out of the 4 RBs, F.Gore, M.Barber III, C.Benson and C.Taylor, if you have to pick 2, who would you pick?
and the 2 RBs that you would drop, and who would you pick up out of the following choices,
C.Henry (WR), S.Holmes, B.Berrian, J.Cotchery, Calvin Johnson, Antwaan Randle El, Santana Moss, DJ.Hackett, J.Walker, B.Stokley, M.Morris?
Thanks!
do u think this is good trade for me
colston and rivers for
j jones and c palmer
in my league, td for QB and WR= 7 pts, 50 yds for QB= 1 pt, 20 yds for WR= 1 pt
my roster
QB1: Rothelisburger
QB2: Rivers
WR1: Colston (wud b replaced wit hackett bein WR3, Henry 2, Smith 1)
WR2: S Smith
WR3: Henry
Wat do u think?
basing this trade on week 15 and 16, my playoffs
only reason im thinkin about doin it is that our league relies on tds, yds dont rlly get u any points. Rivers has mor ints then td, which is rlly bad for our league, and he has a lot of yds, but that dont matter. Colston also hasnt got a TD since his 3 TD game, just a lot of yards, and 100 rec yards in our league is only 5 pts (ya i know its stupid). just addin this to help u think wat i shud do on this trade
Also have a roster question:
RB: henry/young, fargas, westbrook, or kolby (pik 2)
Another question for my TD heavy league, JP.
I’m probably starting Berrian as my WR3, but I could also use Branch. Berrian has the better matchup, though. Which do you like?
tarheel: I don’t think Hester has a lot of fantasy value in most leagues, unless they award points individually for return TDs. I’d probably dump him for Chambers first and Stokley next.
BT: NO has the better matchup, but you might want to look at picking up ARI, KC or SEA this week. They all have better matchups and better defenses…I would start Portis, Jones-Drew, Andre Johnson and Lee Evans. The other guys have bad matchups or are coming back from injury.
Scorpion: I’d go with Kitna, though the matchups are close. He has a better chance of playing catch up this week as he faces a good GB team…at WR, I’d go with Burress – great matchup and a week for that ankle to heal. At W/R, Henry looks like a nice start.
WonderPets: Your questions look quite similar to Scorpion’s…hmmm….I’d go with Brady, Taylor and Barber, but sub in Gore for Taylor if Peterson plays. Gates has the most upside at TE. Jennings is a good start at your flex, though you could start Gore if you wanted some sure points.
WonderPets, II: Gore and Barber have the most long term value, but Taylor has the most short term value. Is this a PPR league? I like Holmes, Hackett, Cotchery, Berrian, Cal. Johnson, C. Henry and Morris, in that order.
Gators: Given your league’s scoring system, you could do that trade, but you’d be depending on Smith to be healthy as one of your WR. I would only do it if I had a fourth guy that I could depend on if one of those WRs got hurt. Rivers has great matchups in weeks 15 and 16, and Colston has a great matchup in week 15, so I’d probably stand pat, unless I had a good WR4 to stick in there if Smith is out.
Gators II: Westbrook for sure, and I’d probably start whoever starts for DEN – they have the Bears, who don’t have the rush D they used to have. If you’re leery about starting a Shanahan RB, my next pick would be Smith, who has a great matchup against OAK.
JEC – The matchups are fairly close, but Berrian’s is better and he’s been pretty solid of late. Branch is still working himself back in, so I’d wait to see how he’s going to fit in with the SEA offense before I’d start him in place of Bernard.
im tryin to do trade for palmer but not sure if anythin is gonna fall thru:
for now: which 3 wrs do i start: colston, s smith, hackett, henry
Should I drop P.Crayton or Rudi Johnson or Julius Jones or Brandon Stokley for Keith Kenton?
I was wondering about who I should start this week. Our league is a PPR league and I don’t know who to start – J. Fargas or C. Benson???
gators – tough call, but I’d go with Smith, Colston and Hackett.
scorpion – I don’t think I’d pick up Keith for any of those guys. He had a nice game because Addai missed a few series, but he came back in so I don’t think he’ll miss any time.
Nick – Benson has the better matchup, but Fargas has been a little more trustworthy. I think Justin will give you a game in that 11-17 point range, but Benson’s range is probably wider, something like 7-25, since he plays DEN and could score once or twice. I’d say if you’re looking for some sure points, go with Fargas. If you’re looking for upside, Benson might be the play. Close call.
JP,
I was wondering about the keeper leauge I’m in and who I should keep for the future. We just started so the first year we are going to keep only 1 player and next year we are going to keep 4. – We drafted without knowing that we would turn it into a keeper league so that is why we are only keepin g1 this year to make it fair.So – Anyways – too make this long story short who should I keep??? PPR League
P. Manning, D. Anderson
M. Harrison, T. Owens, D. Branch, K. Curtis, J. Jones, T. Ginn Jr.
A. Peterson, T. Jones, C. Benson, R. Grant, J. Fargas
J. Witten
I would like to keep A. Peterson, of course, but he seems to get hurt alot. T. O. is blowing it up too and R. Grant keeps playing like this he might be a stud. Then again P. Manning could blow up next year too. Who do you think?
Hey Nick – I love keeper questions!
First of all, I like how your league handled the decision to go keeper mid-season. So you get to keep one player – who should it be?
I agree that your decision comes down to Manning, Peterson and Owens. There are knocks on all three: (1) Manning is a QB and there is a ton of parity at the position (2) Peterson seems to be injury prone (3) Owens is getting on in years and is fairly undependable as a person.
I would keep Peterson if he comes back healthy this season. If his injury lingers, or if he gets injured again, I’d give Manning a serious look. Owens is 34 and is probably going to hit the wall in the next 1-3 years. Just look at what happened to Marvin this season. At some point the good times have to end.
If Peterson comes back, he gives you a first round caliber guy that you can build around. If he continues to struggle with injury, then Manning is worth a look, but it depends on how AP is doing next summer.
I think AP is your guy, but make sure you back him up with Chester Taylor in next year’s draft!
