waiver wire: Do i drop young, henry, or fargas for chester taylor?
Roster Q’s: QB: Do i start rivers or lemon
WR: pick 2: smith, henry, stokely, chambers?
RB: pick 1: henry, young, fargas, or taylor if you think i shud drop some1
DEF: SEA, OAK, or DEN
K: Brown, Gostkowski, Reed?
i cud also drop lemon for boller or jackson
I wouldn’t cut any of those guys for Taylor – isn’t there anyone else you can cut? I’d definitely try to grab Taylor if possible. I think you can cut your second QB for him.
I can better answer your starting lineup questions tomorrow, when all the Week 10 numbers are in.
sum1 just added taylor… i didn’t rlly have any1 to drop anyway
shud i drop lemon for croyle, boller, or jackson?
I just packaged Jesse Chatman and Steve Smith for Stephen Jackson…what’s your opinion on this? I’m curious as to your thoughts on how Jackson will perform down the stretch. The main reason for the trade was due to Chatman’s unfavorable playoff schedule and Smith’s lack of QB.
This leaves me with…
WR1 Housh, WR2 Hackett, WR3 Kevin Walter, WR4 Harrison
RB1 McGahee, RB2 Gore, RB3 Jackson and RB4 S. Young and RB5 M. Bush
What’s your opinion on Marvin Harrison? Should I look to make a deal for him now or wait out this injury a little longer? I’ve heard rumors that the Colts may sit him for the remainder of the regular season.
Gators – Looks like Lemon is going to backup Beck, so I’d cut him for Boller. He’s probably the best of that crew.
Gator Bait – I don’t blame you for being down on Steve Smith. At first glance, it looks like you gave up too much, but everything depends on how you think Jackson will perform. He has an easier schedule than Chatman, but not by much, and he has bad matchups in weeks 15 & 16. It looks like you are counting on Hackett to be your WR2 even though he’s not very proven of yet.
I am a Harrison owner in one league and I get the feeling that he won’t be back until the last few weeks if/when the Colts are fighting for a playoff spot. If you can get something good for him, do so, but you need a WR more than a RB, so it might be wise to sit on him and possibly have him available for the playoffs.
Agree – I forgot to mention that I acquired Steve Smith in a trade for Patrick Crayton and I acquired Chatman in a trade for Donald Driver. So, indirectly this Jackson trade only cost my team Driver and Crayton (or at least that’s what I like to tell myself).
Jackson does have a couple tough games during the playoffs but I have the Pats DEF and Chatman will face the Pats during the FFL playoffs. That was another reason why I cut the strings – trying to avoid FFL canibalism.
This may be premature to say, but it looks like the Rams offense has a pulse once again. If Bulger and Co. continue to take some pressure off Jackson’s groin, he could be in for a huge run.
How do you like Drew Bennett as a sleeper WR now that Bruce is out with the hammy injury? I may pick him up for added depth.
JP, with Boller taking over at QB, how much does Mark Clayton’s stock rebound? Would you cut Roddy White for Clayton in a TD heavy league?
can u answer my roster questions above, im too lazy to type again
Gator Bait – I think Bennett is a solid sleeper now that Bulger and Co. seem to be back on track. It helps that Bruce is out.
JEC – I think I’d stick with White. Clayton’s stock should rebound some, but he’s only had one good game and we’ve been waiting for him to play well all season. I’d pick him up if I were in dire need of WR help, but I think I like White better.
Gators – Start Rivers, Lemon is a backup now. If you picked up Boller, you could give him the start. Both guys have good matchups, but Boller’s is better. At WR, Henry has a nice matchup. Smith’s matchup is bad and he hasn’t been performing well of late. I’d still stick with him, but I stick with my floundering studs longer that most people. If you want to bench Smith, I’d start Chambers over Stokley. At RB, I’d start Fargas. It looks like DEN is going to platoon their RBs. On defense, I’d go with SEA. They are a top 10 fantasy defense with a good matchup. For your kicker, I think Gostkowski is the safest start with all the XPs. The other guys have good matchups as well, but I like kickers that play on teams with stellar offenses..
who would you start this week. Cedric Benson or Warrick Dunn?
I know that there both not good but I need to start one.
do i start chris henry or hackett. looking for best chance to score a td
or do i start them both and sit smith?
steve smith (carolina)
@ jets: for what its worth I’m starting hackett this week while i can, before they decide to go back to their running game.
@paulson: i’m debating a trade proposal. romo is pretty much carrying my team now that adrian is out. i’ve been offered mcnabb & hasselbeck for romo & ocho cinco. while it would leave me in decent qb shape (my backups being campbell & clemens), i would be light on wr’s & rb’s. (hackett, driver, willie parker, chatman, patrick crayton). trade deadline is today. whatya think?
Tyhill – Both guys have pretty good matchups, but I’d probably go with Dunn who has had more success lately.
Jets – I have a tough time sitting Smith. I’d probably go with Smith and Henry, since Henry has such a good matchup and is a threat to catch a TD. Hackett has a tough matchup this week, but it’s still tough to sit him since SEA is throwing the ball so much. I’d go with Smith & Henry, but it’s close.
tarheel blue – so they’re offering you mcnabb and hass for romo and CJ? I take it this is a league where you start 2 QB. Otherwise, I wouldn’t do the trade. There’s no point in trading for a backup QB at this point in the season. I think I’d stand pat with Romo and CJ, who is bound to bounce back.
thanks, JP. and yes, we start 2 qb, 3 wr, 2 rb, and the option for another wr or rb. i have a hard time letting romo go when he’s my leading point getter now, and i’m glad to hear you think cj will rebound from his weak performances so far. i sure hope so. and mcnabb & hass have put up decent fantasy numbers, but not with the consistency of romo. guess i’ll leave things the same.
I think that trade would leave you very thin at WR, especially in a 3 WR format.
Line up for week 11
QB = Jon Kitna or Kyle Boller
WR1 = Reggie Wayne
WR2 = Plaxico Burress
RB1 = Willie Parker
RB2 = Justin Fargas
TE = Chris Cooley
W/R = David Patten? Rudi Johnson? Patrick Crayton? Chris Henry? Julius Jones?
K = Phil Dawson? Jason Hanson? Josh Scobee?
Is it safe to drop Brandon Stokley and Michael Robinson now?
Should I start Antonio Gates or Jason Witten?
Who should I start as my 2 RBs? Marion Barber III, Cedric Benson and Frank Gore?
Big Ben or Brady?
Evans, Curtis, or Bowe
Portis, Jones-Drew, Chatman
WAS or NO ??
Thanks for the help all year long JP
Looks like Branch is coming back this week. Would you start him over Berrian in a TD heavy league? Berrian’s stock would seem to be on the rise slightly with Grossman back behind center.
Scorpion – At QB, Boller has a great matchup, but I wouldn’t trust him enough to bench Kitna. You have lots of interesting options for your flex spot. I’d probably go with Henry, who has a great matchup and is a threat to score a TD. Rudi and Julius are spliting time and Crayton has a tough matchup. Patten is interesting, but isn’t as big of a threat to score as Henry. At Kicker, I’d go with Dawson; he has a good matchup. You could cut Robinson, but I’d probably hold on to Stokley – who were you thinking about picking up?
WonderPets – Gates or Witten? Man, you’re stacked at TE. I’d start Gates due to his upside. You may want to move a TE to get a better RB. At RB, I’d start Gore and Barber. Benson is pretty sketchy. Big Ben or Brady? Man, you’re stacked at QB. Go with Brady.
BT – I think Evans is the #1 guy there, then Curtis. I think I’d start Portis and Jones-Drew. Portis has been stellar of late and Jones-Drew creates the same problems as Adrian Peterson did for the Chargers defense. On defense, NO has the better matchup, but WAS has the better defense. I think I’d go with the Redskins.
JEC – I’d stick with Berrian because with Grossman in there he’s a threat to catch a long ball or two. It’s tough to go with a WR right away when he comes back from injury. It’s nice to let him get back in the swing of things before counting on him. You can afford to since you have Berrian.
Thanks JP. If I start M.Barber III and F.Gore as my 2 RBs.
Who should I start as my W/R = C.Benson? G.Jennings? C.Taylor?
2 starter Q’s for t/w:
Chapman (vs Phil) or Gore (vs StL)?
Crayton (vs Wash) or Hackett (vs Chi)?
TE – Scheffler or LJ Smith?
WonderPets – Definitely get Chester Taylor in there. He has a great matchup and Minny has a great offensive line.
Zookeeper – I prefer Gore due to the great matchup with STL. I’d go with Hackett at WR. He has a better matchup than Crayton and SEA is going to throw the ball much more from here on out.
BT – I’d go with Scheffler. LJ did catch a TD last week, but Scheffler has been more consistent of late.
do i start selvin young and travis henry
does this seem like a good trade:
s smith and p rivers for warner and l white
warner has great matchups week 15 & 16 (playoffs) and smith and rivers have garbage matchups during playoffs
wat do u think?
also have a trade strait up smith for warner
Here’s what Rotoworld has to say about Henry/Young:
The Denver Post expects Travis Henry (knee) to be active Monday night.
The Post points out that the Broncos have no reason to save Henry, as he’ll have a full year to recover from the knee injury with his suspension looming. Even if Henry is active and starts, there’s a good chance he won’t make it through. Henry is recovering from a torn left PCL, and if he’s unable to explode, coach Mike Shanahan will likely turn to the hot hand (Selvin Young).
Pay attention to the inactives about 1 hr before kickoff. If Henry is inactive, obviously Young is your man. If he’s active, you have a decision to make. If you put a gun to my head, I’d go with Young, because he’s healthier.
Smith & Rivers for Warner and White…it looks like that owner is trying to trade his depth (White + Warner) for a potential starter in Smith. He’s gambling that there’s a good chance that Smith will come back strong.
Also, you may want to take anotehr look at the matchups. My numbers show that Warner has one bad matchup (Week 14) and one good matchup (Week 15) while Rivers has one bad (14) and two good (Weeks 15 & 16). Smith has one good (14), one bad (15) and one mediocre (16). White has two mediocre (14 & 15) and one good (16).
This sounds like it’s a decision about Phillip Rivers. Do you feel comfortable with him as your starter? Warner can get hot, but he’s also a sack away from missing the rest of the season with some ailment. I think he’s fine as a spot starter, but I wouldn’t want to hitch my wagon to him unless I was desperate. How much does White help your RB situation – are you in a position to start him?
ur rite, i dont think im doin that trade, ill look for other qbs
wat qbs u think i shud look for for a trade of rivers and smith that the owner will do:
losman, griese, cutler, garcia, smith, eli?
my playoffs only 15 and 16
reason im dealin smith is i got henry, colston, and hackett, all who i want to start over smith.
Those guys you listed are all probably backups, though Garcia, Cutler and Eli might be the other owner’s starter. Rivers has the best playoff schedule of any of them, with two good matchups during your playoffs. I’d probably rank them Garcia, Rivers, Manning and Cutler. I wouldn’t get rid of Rivers unless you have to. If you were to give he and Smith up, you should be getting a clear upgrade at QB, and none of these guys are a clear upgrade.
If you really want to get rid of Smith and give yourself more options at QB, I might offer Smith for Garcia or Manning – that would give you some options during the playoffs if Rivers isn’t playing well (but he put up pretty good numbers yesterday). Since you’re sure you want to get rid of Smith, Smith for Warner wouldn’t be bad, either. You can hope that Kurt stays healthy and is an option along with Rivers.
Do you start 3 WR? You need to cover yourself in case one of those guys goes down.
ya i start 3 wr
i guess ill stik wit my team for now.. im on a 6 game winning streak anyway
I clinched playoffs so now i just have some questions about playoffs…
which def’s wud b most useful for week 15 & 16?
DET, SEA, DAL, TB, WASH, ARI, HOU?
which kickers most useful for week 15 & 16?
brown, crosby, graham, hanson, reed, janikowski, gould?
Thanks
also for my defensive question, add in KC, they got pretty good schedule too
