Hi JP,
My kicker Jacksonville’s Scobee is hurt, he will not play this coming week against the Falcon.
Here are my options, who should I add?
Giant’s K = Tynes, GB’s Crosby, Jets’ Nugent, Washington’s Suisham, Dallas’s Folk, Minn’s Longwell, SF’s Nedney or Ten’s Bironas?
WRs – I’ll definitely start Wayne, but should I start Plaxico (because of Eli’s situation)? I have Patrick Crayton and Mark Clayton on my bench.
RBs – who should be the top 3 RBs? I have Willis Parker, Rudi Johnson, Julius Jones, Derrick Ward and Ladell Bett.
And final Defensive Player – Should I start GB’s Aaron Kampman or Ind’s Robert Mathis?
shud i pik up lorenzo and drop green, or cambell?
I have SD defense who is playing against NE. Would it be a wise move to pick up NO defense? They are playing TB this week…
also..what do you think about Jamarcus Russell? I took a gamble and picked him up….
2 Questions:
1. QB 2 of 3 start: Brees, Delhomme, or Roethlisberger?
2. RB 2 of 3 start: T. Henry, F. Gore, or A. Peterson (Min. obviously!)
All right, let’s knock out these questions:
Scorpion – I don’t keep a close eye on the kickers, but it helps when they (1) kick indoors or in a nice climate and (2) play for good offenses or offenses that get bogged down in the red zone. GB’s Crosby was really impressive on Sunday and showed great poise for a rookie. I wouldn’t go with Tynes as long as Manning is out – the Giants are going to have a tough time moving the ball. Bironas, Longwell and Nedney look about the same to me. I’d probably go with Longwell since he kicks indoors and the Vikings will probably struggle to score in the red zone.
Gators – I’m not particularly high on Lorenzen. Campbell and Green both have better long term prospects.
Phil – I think I’d run San Diego out there and see what happens. The Saints are pretty bad on that side of the ball.
Mick – Brees and Big Ben are pretty close. Based on last year’s stats, Brees has a better matchup, but Roethlisberger is at home and played really well last week. I think Brees will bounce back, but it’s tough to bench Roethlisberger against BUF. Regarding your RBs, all three guys have good matchups. If Chester Taylor is back, I’d sit Peterson. If Taylor is out, then it’s a tougher call. I’d probably go with Henry and Gore because they are more proven. Peterson looked great last week, however. Sorry I can’t be more definitive, but that’s a nice problem you have there.
Hi JP,
Thanks for the kicker advice. I have a few more Qs,
WRs – I’ll definitely start Wayne, but should I start Plaxico (because of Eli’s situation)? I have Patrick Crayton and Mark Clayton on my bench.
RBs – who should be the top 3 RBs? I have Willis Parker, Rudi Johnson, Julius Jones, Derrick Ward and Ladell Bett.
Defensive Player – Should I start GB’s Aaron Kampman or Ind’s Robert Mathis?
Scorpion – Sorry, I missed those other questions. If Eli plays, definitely start Burress, but if he’s out, I think you could give Crayton the start.
RBs, I would go with Parker, Rudi and Ward. The first two are no-brainers, and I think Ward will have a decent game against GB. There’s no telling what JJ and Betts will do in limited time.
I don’t really follow defensive players, but Kampman outplayed Mathis last season and should be active against a banged up Giants squad.
Thx for advice last week and this week, hope i go 2-0!
I think this is easy, but Portis (vs Phil) or Jordan vs Den)? I think Portis
now…
McNabb (vs Redskins) or Hassleback (vs AZ)? I am stuck.
Thanks JP! Actually I dropped Kampman last night, but I picked up another GB DL Nick Barnett, I’m planning to start him over Mathis, what do you think?
I have Mark Clayton Bal on my bench, he didn’t do anything on game 1, do you think he has any upside? I was thinking to drop him to pick up other WR…
What do you think of Jac’s John Broussard? PHI’s Jason Avant? IND’s Gonzalez? DET’s Furrey? JAC’s Reggie William?
Zookeeper – I’d actually lean Jordan. He’s getting all the touches while Portis is still splitting time. PHI has a good D while the Broncos gave up lots of rushing yards to Lynch last week. Portis isn’t a bad play though.
I’d go with McNabb. He’s a better fantasy player and the Cardinals D might be better than advertised.
Scorpion – Hold onto Clayton for a few more weeks and see if he gets more involved. He had a great finish last year and should be solid if he can get healthy.
I got 5 Wrs, 2 obvious starters, dont know about rest
steve smith
roy williams
m clayton
cotchery
i bruce
which one do i put in 3rd slot?
Also shud i put Portis in, even though hes splittin, or shud i put ahman green?
JP, who is a better back-up, Ladell Bett or Sammy Morris?
Hi JP, should I keep Grossman as my back-up QB? Or should I pick up Kellen Clemens and or Tarvaris Jackson?
scratch my portis question, was able to trade him for henry
scratch my wr question to, i picked up curry so now its alllll good
Gators – Portis for Henry? That looks like a nice trade. Be sure to pick up Selvin Young to protect against a Henry injury. Also, a word of warning on Ronald Curry this week. He’s probably going to be covered by Champ Bailey who shut down Lee Evans last week. Curry and Cotchery are pretty close plays this week.
Scorpion – I’d wait for one of those QBs to prove he can play before dumping Rex. He had to play a good DT on the road and he doesn’t seem to do well in those situations, but he should still be effective against mediocre or bad defenses. As for your backup RB question, you’ll definitely want Betts if you have Portis, and it looks like Portis is a little more injury prone than Maroney is, so I’d lean Betts.
JP,
I’m actually thinking about starting Norwood over Benson this week in a PPR league.
Here’s some basics:
0+ RuYds = .1 points for every 1 RuYd
Plus a 5 point bonus @ 100+ RuYd
6 points for either rushing or rec. TD
1 pt per rec…
Crazy idea?
Anthony – I don’t understand the following line:
0+ RuYds = .1 points for every 1 RuYd
I think it’s the 0+ that’s throwing me off.
Anyway, I think I would stick with Benson this week against the Chiefs. I think Norwood is a sleeper, but Benson is pretty much a sure thing to get 17+ touches.
which 3 wrs do u think shud start
smith
cotch
curry
clayton
b edwards
Smith, Cotch and Edwards…I like Curry overall, but he’s facing Champ Bailey this week and that’s not good. I’m not sure what’s up with Clayton…hopefully he’ll come along in the next few weeks.
JP,
I was panic when Kitna was out yesterday, my back-up QB is Grossman, so I dropped Clayton and picked up Kellen Clemens.
Now, I’m in need of a third WR… I have Patrick Crayton of Dallas, should I keep him or drop him for one of the following WRs,
Dennis Northcutt, Stokley, Roydell Williams, Anthony Gonzalez, Marty Booker, Mike Furrey, Dwayne Bowe, Bobby Engram, Roddy White or Jason Avant?
do u think i shud trade big ben and b edwards for dev henderson and drew brees?
