Dear Michigan Wolverines football program:
If you continue to run the same offense you ran three decades ago, you give a Division 1-AA program a chance to defend you.
If you continue to refuse to learn how to stop a non-conventional offense, you give a Division 1-AA program a chance to score on you.
If you just assume that teams are going to be caught up in the hype of the “Big House” experience, you give a Division 1-AA program a chance to beat you.
Believe it or not Michigan, other programs across the nation use a spread offense. Other programs have mobile quarterbacks. So if you continue to play 1970-style football, more programs like Appalachian State are going to roll into your house and beat you like the Mountaineers did Saturday. Gone are the days where programs lie down at your mercy because you’re rated fifth in the nation. Update your schemes or risk falling even further behind your competition.

Hello Michigan……………….I guess nobody from Michigan read your message……..
Hello……….bad night for the coach…………Bad season for the players becaus this loss is not going to go away.
Hello AD departments that schedule ringers for the first game…..hahahahha
Who’s next.
PS Back of Michigan Fans on Notre Dame….We do not have your talent this year
and we took on a much better team than you did and we lost trying.
Hail This
Memo to Michigan – please, PLEASE, keep Lloyd Carr as your head coach.
As a Buckeye fan this is all part of the sweet revenge for the Cooper years!!
And how about App. State? Their AD thinks, “Well, we’ll go up there, maybe make it interesting for a quarter and then be done. But at least we’ll get thousands of dollars to play at Michigan.”
Not only did they get a huge contribution to the AD, but now also have a recruiting tool for years…”Hey come to Appalachian State – we beat Michigan!”
Bad night for the two coaches who gave Michigan #1 votes in the USA Today Coaches preseason opinion poll (I’m sure one of them was Lloyd Carr). I certainly hope these yahoos give App. State some consideration in this week’s poll since they just took down the team they voted #5, in the big house.
Great win App. State…you’ve just shown you’re not patsie enough for that other top 10 pretender from the Big 10/11 to ever want to play you…Ohio State.
At least Michigan and Notre Dame lost early this year. Now, I won’t have to sit around and listen to all hype then watch them get crushed in another BCS game.
Let’s face it – Michigan was way overrated.
Their defense got spanked last year by Ohio State and USC, and then they lost 5 great starters.
You have to have a defense to be considered a contender for the National Title, so all this talk about Michigan was silly.
Oh, and they also have Lloyd Carr. Even if they had great talent on defense everyone should have been skeptical.
Michigan and Ohio State are the poster children for the current college bowl system fiasco.
Yo T-Bone, throw ND into your statement too. What division are they in? Talk about a fiasco.
ND is definitely included. All three have been overrated for years.
Good call A.S. ….. I am glad when these big schools put these cupcakes on their schedule and the cupcakes take them out. Jeez, Lloyd – where you not ready to play or what dude ? You got outcoached by a 1aa school from Boone NC ? Hello ! The Little House was quiet. Season Over.
