i don't like alex rodriguez, though. we need a guy that's likeable and has a lotta talent, like David Ortiz but he won't break it. and without steroids.

yeah if sammy broke the record, we wuld've celebrated even though he was in a steroid scandal. sammy's a very likeable guy. sammy has an idea of racial tension like Hank Aaron does because he grew up poor in the dominican republic

Second that, T-bone. We all know it. Just be a man, stand up and speak the truth. Decades of baseball and only two guys ever crack 60 homers. All of a sudden, you've got three guys dancing around 70. Bullshit.

As for booing the man instead of the roids - I say no. I watched Sammy Sosa hug Mark McGwire as he rounded first after a homer, and my heart just beamed. i loved baseball again that year he hit 70. My wife bought me a mounted photo of the two men together, and it was one of my fondest wishes to have those men sign it.

It's since become painfully clear that they were both juiced. I don't know where that photo is anymore, and I don't care. It's gonna be a while before I give a crap about major league baseball again. My son and I go to the local minor league park and watch the young guys go at it. The quality of the play is very good, the parks are smaller, the players don't have such attitudes, good seats are $10, and a hot dog is a buck and a half.

I think if Bonds, McGwire, Sosa, and all these freaks got up in front of congress and just said "yeah, we did it, and we're sorry", this record would have been celebrated by a lot more people than just the bozos in SF. But they didn't...they hid behind their union like they've done so many times before. Bonds should have learned from Pete Rose that confessing 20 years down the road isn't going to cut it with the fans. Fess up and they'd forgive. But his ego and his union wouldn't allow that.

It's too bad...he was easily one of the greatest of all time. B

The reason people Boo bonds is not because of steroids it's because we all think he's a pain in the ass. He has done nothing that I can see to make himself endering to the Fans. Babe Ruth was drinking fool but he loved to be around the people. Mantle was also a well known drinker but the Fans loved him and we could go on and on.

My point..........it's not the steroids it's the man we Boo
