Yeah but T-Bone, just because it’s “all new” to Player, doesn’t make his comments acceptable. He made a pretty blanket statement when he lumped creatine in with HGH and steroids in general. Of course creatine could supplement steroids – so could orange juice and a multi-vitamin. If Woods was on steroids, Palmer was on HGH and Furyk was on creatine, Woods and Palmer would have some explaining to do to drug testers while nobody would blink an eye at Furyk.

Yes, growth hormones are found in the body as well. However, if you inject a whole mess of growth hormones into your body and hit the weights hard, you’re coming out of the oven looking like the San Fran version of Barry Bonds. If you take a whole mess of creatine and hit the weights hard, there’s a good chance you’re still going to resemble the Pittsburgh version of Barry or at the very best, still half the size of the SF Barry.

If creatine gave the same effect as HGH or steroids, we wouldn’t be accusing Bonds of tarnishing baseball’s most coveted record. Rite Aid sells creatine off its shelves; last time I checked, HGH wasn’t sitting there next to it.

Creatine is found in your body however it's also an enhancement when use with steroids and has some steroid like effects when you work out. Give the old guy a break...it's all the same to him. The only juice he used was a bottle of scotch and a pack of marlboros.

Hey, andro was legal too when McGwire used it and I believe that is supposed to be similar to creatine. Aren't growth hormones found in your body too?

I'm no expert but it's all crap to me, just like it probably is to Player.

Good call Bill, I went right over that quote when I first did the post.

I remember when SI.com did a whole spread about 8-10 years ago about the new “mystery” supplement in baseball, creatine. Everybody is on it…what is it?...how many players are using it? Etc…

Most people didn’t know that creatine is already found in your body…EVERYONE’S body.

Player also said: "Whether it's HGH, whether it's Creatine or whether it's steroids, I know for a fact that some golfers are doing it."

Creatine? Since when has Creatine been in the same class as steroids? Player needs to get some education on creatine.

"Creatine is a naturally occurring crystalline molecule that includes atoms of carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen, and oxygen (C4H9N3O2). Creatine plays a vital role in the release of energy in the muscles of humans and other animals. Creatine also plays an important role in nerve cell function. "
