Is Deron Williams better than Chris Paul?
The Utah Jazz took a lot of heat for drafting Deron Williams over Chris Paul in 2005, especially when Paul ran away with the ROY award while Williams spent half the year on the bench. But now that Williams has the Jazz in the conference finals, the doubters have been silenced.
In my latest column, I explore the reasoning behind the pick and take a look at the numbers both players have put up since they entered the league.
If you think chris paul is even clost to as good as Deron Williams you need to quit thinking because you are so wrong. Deron Williams is by far the more superior guard. He is a better and more versitile scorer. He can score anywhere on the court. Willimas is bigger, stronger, was second in assists behind steve nash, (not to mention ahead of paul), and can hit the clutch shots at the end of games, he did it all season. And one more thing, williams can throw it down!! Paul would be lucky to touch the rim.
OK, I will quit thinking because I am so wrong.
Deron Williams may have passed Paul with his strong playoff run, but he isn’t “by far” the superior guard. It’s a close race, and it’s one that I will watch as long as they’re both in the league.
