Favre calls Wednesday press conference
Brett Favre has called a surprise press conference, set to start at 12:30 PM ET.
There’s no indication at this point what the legendary Packer quarterback is going to announce.
Obviously, anytime Favre calls a surprise press conference, especially after a tough preseason, the speculation is that he’ll announce his retirement. We’ll know more in an hour.
Update (12:45 PM ET): Apparently, Minnesota TV station KSTP didn’t realize that Favre normally meets with the media on Wednesdays.

My guess is that he’ll call it quits at the end of the year, that way he can do his “goodbye” tour…
WOW, that’s a huge blunder…how about worrying about which jail Koren Robinson is spending the night in instead of concentrating on another team Minnesota!
Yeah, as I linked to them I assumed they would have done some sort of factchecking. Now I see how quickly rumors can spread in the digital age.
In the end, I think it was just wishful thinking on the part of the Vikings’ fanbase.
Just to clarify, I wasn’t saying that was a blunder on your behalf John, I heard the same thing on a local radio station and almost posted the same story.
I was saying it was a blunder by that Minnesota’s television network who reported it…
I got your meaning, Anthony, and took no offense.
