Kobe Bryant scored a career high 62 points in the Lakers’ 112-90 victory over the Dallas Mavericks. He did most of his damage in the third quarter, scoring 30 points in the period before sitting the entire fourth quarter. He shot 18-31 from the field, including 4-10 from long range. He also shot 25 free throws, connecting on 22 of them.
No other Lakers scored in double figures.

Here’s my question: is it a good thing or a bad thing that Kobe scored 62 in three quarters? No team should be so one dimensional, and it makes me wonder if his teammates, even though they won the game, resent him for hogging the ball.
While I’m thoroughly impressed with the performance, I have to think that the next two weeks will be Kobe’s personal hell, since he’ll get nowhere near as many looks to shoot, plus he may have to deal with an angry Laker bench. What say you, NBA Fantasy Stud?
When you are shooting 58% from the field, you can take a million shots and, as long as you keep up that percentage, your teammates won’t accuse you of hogging the ball. However, if you are taking 30+ shots and your FG percentage is less than 45%, you’re going to be dealing with some angry teammates.
In the end, scoring 62 through three quarters is an amazing feat, but the Lakers aren’t going to get into the playoffs this way.
