The Pats are obviously still a threat, but things do seem to be setting up nicely for the Colts.

I'm not ruling out the Pats, I just don't buy into the "defending champ" thing. The Pats are a team trying to win a title just like everyone else, and right now there are a few teams in their own conference that have a better chance of making it to the big game. The Colts are on bye this week and then face NE, CIN and PIT in three of their next four games. If they make it through that stretch with only a single loss, then they will still be in the driver's seat going forward. I'd like to see them win it all - it would be great to see a consummate pro like Marvin Harrison get a Super Bowl ring before the likes of Terrell Owens and Randy Moss.

I'll be eager to see what kind of scheme Belichick comes up with for the game against Indy. Don't surprised if it involves bear traps just underneath the playing surface. But if they beat New England, then yes, they are the team to beat. But I think it's too soon to rule out the Pats. There's nothing more dangerous than a cornered, injured animal.

It does look like their year. If they can keep this up and get home field advantage, they'll also be playing the entire post-season in domes (the Super Bowl will be in sunny Detroit).

Interesting observation on the Steelers. This could be a real problem, especially if they play in Pittsburgh. Playing in the dome might neutralize things.
