Milton Bradley is feuding with Jeff Kent. Big surprise. Now Milton is playing the race card. Wow, I’m floored.
This guy is trouble. The Cleveland Indians made a great move last year when they dumped Bradley just before the season started. They wanted to develop their young players in a positive atmosphere. Now they’re in the Wild Card hunt. Bradley is a talented player, but had Cleveland kept him, he would have poisoned the clubhouse and destroyed the great chemistry.
Now the Dodgers have to deal with this idiot. Last year he threw his customary tantrums. This year he’s calmer, but his recent statements demonstrate that he’s not any smarter.

Well, let’s not forget that Bradley is calling out Jeff Kent, who has had his own problems with teammates in the past, namely Barry Bonds. Bradley should’ve kept it inhouse rather than going to the press, but I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a whole lot more truth behind what Bradley’s saying than most people would tend to believe.
Fair point – I’m not defending Kent. But Bradley has now gone far beyond ctiticizing Kent now that he has brought race into the discussion. He mentions that only 9% of MLB players are black and he implies discrimination. That’s a joke. Is the NBA discriminating against white players? How about the NFL? Maybe black kids are more drawn to those sports and that impacts the percentages.
Bradley continues to make stupid comments and cause problems in the clubhouse. I would NEVER permit him on my roster if Iwere a GM.
And I’m not defending Bradley. In fact, his suggestion that the low number of black players in professional baseball is a sign of discrimination is assinine. Has he noticed the number of Latin players in the league?
That said, Bradley has reportedly been a model citizen for the Dodgers this year after undergoing anger management classes during the offseason, and manager Jim Tracy is supposedly a big Bradley fan. I think this is the first time we’ve heard from him off the field this season, which should be a record for Board Games.
Check out this quote from Lance Berkman, a former teammate of Kent’s in Houston:
“I think (for Bradley) to make it a race issue is ridiculous. J.K. doesn’t discriminate against anybody. He ignores Latinos, blacks and whites equally.”
Money.
